SHIPS’ TONNAGE.
BUILDING LAST YEAR. LIST HEADED BY BRITAIN. Received. January 21, 9.35 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 20. Eiglity-five vessels aggregating 2,193,000 tons gross were launched in 1925, according to Lloyd’s annual survey. Of these 49 i per cent or 1,085,000 tons wore launched in the British Isles. Germany comes second with 406,000 tons. Italy launched 142,000 tons and the United States 129,000. Japan is eighth with 56,000 tons. The decrease in the total output is 54,000 tons, compared with 1924, tho decrease in the British Isles being 365,000 tons. Thus tho increase abroad is 301,000 tons. The tonnage launched in Britain for owners abroad was 178,000. —Reuter.
