NORMAL KILLING
AT AORANGI WORKS. COMMENCE TO-MORROW MORNING. In connection with the extension of the freezing dispute to the Aorangi works at Feilding, yesterday afternoon tho company posted a notice at the works to the effect that, owing to tho “go slow” policy of the slaughtermen, it had decided that, unless satisfactory assurances wore given by 12 o’clock to-day that tho slaughtermen would resume and continue killing at the normal pace, no more stock would be offered them for killing. In that event the wages duo to tho slaughtermen would be availablo at 12 noon to-day. The “Standard’s” Feilding correspondent telephoned early this afternoon that the men had unconditionally given way and that normal killings would bo resumed at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning. No the men’s decision lias been influenced by the decision of tho men at Christchurch, where “go slow” tactics have been discontinued and whore thero has been a return to normal working conditions. WORK IN CHRISTCHURCH. “GO SLOW” POLICY ENDED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 20. The “go slow” policy at the Canterbury freezing works ended this morning, when tho normal killing rate was resumed. This development follows tho ultimatum issued overnight by tho companies that if tho normal pace was not resumed no stock would be offered. The union secretary states that though things are normal the point to bo emphasised is that the dispute is not settled.
