VIOLENT COLLISION
TWO MOTOR CARS WRECKED. THREE PEOPLE INJURED. Par Preps Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 11. Thrown fifteen feet across the road, two people narrowly escaped death and several, others were severely shaken as the result of a violent motor collision last night. The injured arc:
Mrs Eliza Treneary, aged 46, concussion, shock and cuts. Miss Maggie Carter, aged 19, concussion, shock, cuts and bruises. Miss Elsie Treneary, aged 16, cuts and bruises.
Mrs Treneary and Miss Carter were admitted to the Christchurch hospital, but Miss Treneary, after being treated as an out-patient, was discharged. Mr Treneary, who was driving the ear, accelerated to avoid pedestrians crossing at a street intersection and crashed into another car going the opposite way. Treneary’s car was caught broadside on and hurled against a telegraph post. Both cars were wrecked. The names of tho occupants of tho other car are unknown.
