SIX DAYS’ RACE IN SYDNEY.
SYDNEY, Jan. 2,
The six days’ cycling race was won by Dempsey and Ross on a points basis. Fitzgerald and Marshall held the lead for several days, but a lap gained by Dempsey and Ross placed them 200 points ahead, enabling them to win.
Fitzgerald’s team finished second, winning the £IOO prize. Fitzgerald gave a great exhibition of sprinting on the final day, winning six out of seven sprinto and being third in the other. —Press Association.
