BOOKMAKERS CAUGHT,

SUBSTANTIAL FINES INFLICTED

Three bookmakers, arrested on Saturday, pleaded guilty in the Police Court this morning and were lined sums aggregating £350. Thomas Lecce was lined £2OO, Henry James Abraham £IOO and William Beresford £SO.

Detective Cummings said that Beresford did his betting in a city hotel, Lecce in a billiard saloon and Abraham in tho street.

All made bets with a constable,
