MURDER IN AUSTRALIA.
BANK MANAGER’S DEATH.
ARREST OF A SUSPECT.,
SYDNEY, Dec. 28. Douglas Robertson, 37 years of ago, described as a skilled labourer, has been arrested in Sydney on suspicion on the chargo of murdering William C Almeida, manager of the Hampton, Victoria branch of the Commercial Bank, oil November 28, 1924, when the bank was stuck up by two men, one of whom escaped. The hearing of the case against Robertson was adjourned till to-morrow. Robertson is stated to have come from New Zealand and to have been in Sydney about a month. A man named Perkins whom Almeida, after being woundecl, held at tho revolver point till he was arrested, was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment. —Press Association.
