GATHERING AT AUCKLAND. RAPINE’S WIN IN THE CUP. CHRISTMAS HANDICAP TO LADY RIDICULE. AUCKLAND, Dec. 26. Tho Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting opened to-day in beautiful weather. There was a very large crowd, and the track was in good order. Excellent racing was witnessed. The totalisator handled £145,969 10s, compared with £115,339 for the corresponding day of last year. In the Great Northern Foal Stakes Commendation played up at tjie barrier and was left. Additional results:— AUCKLAND CUP, of 3000 sovs., two miles. 3 Rapine, 9.8 (R.
