MARTON JOCKEY CLUB., SUMMER MEETING TO BE HELD ON FEILDING RACECOURSE. The Railway Department has provided a most comprehensive timetable for the Marton Jockey Chili’s summer meeting to he held on the Feiiding racecourse on Friday and Satjtfday, Ist and 2nd January, 1926. On January Ist there will he specials leaving Palmerston North at 9.28 a.m. and 10.15 a.m., arriving at Feiiding at 10 a.m. and at 10.50 a.m. The 10.15 a.m. train from Palmerston North will connect with trains from Paokakariki and Foxton. A special will also leave Palmerston North at 11.2, picking up passengers by the Wellington Limited, which leaves Wellington at 7.55 a.m. and arrives at Palmerston North at 10.40 a.m., connecting at Terrace End with the train from Dannevirke and Masterton, and arriving at Feiiding at 11.30 a.m. The return fares to Feiiding from Palmerston North are 2s lid and Is lid. Trains leave Feiiding for Palmerston North, Wellington, Foxton, Dannevirko and Masterton at 5.34 and for Palmerston North only at 5.45, 6.17 and 7.28 p.m. on January Ist, and on January 2nd at 6.3 and 7.28 p.m. On January 2nd there will be only one special train, leaving Palmerston North at 10.1, arriving at Feiiding at 10.37 a.m. Excursion fares will lie issued on all the above trains, and as the first race starts at 11.45 a.m. each day, passengers will have plenty of time to reach the racecourse for the first race.

There was a representative attendance of sportsmen at the Kairakatta Cemetery (Perth, W.A.) ono day last week, when Bob Ramagf, the veteran jockey who rode Carbine to victory in his great Melbourne Cup, was buried.

The much-travelled Newcastle jockey A. Orrell, who was a while back in New- Zealand, had a bone in his arm broke in June, but rode afterwards. He has found since that the break lias not knitted properly and is in hospital having it attended to.
