RACE MEETINGS
FEWER PEOPLE ATTENDING. ENGLAND’S EXPERIENCE. Received December 22. 9.45 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 21. The Daily Telegraph’s sporting writer definitely concludes that fewer people are attending racecourses. Aleeting after meeting, he states, is sparsely attended. It often appears as if there were' more bookmakers than backers. It remains to be seen, however, whether this will be permanent, but there are indications that the expenses of the race-going public, which are usually regarded as fair plunder, are too high.—A. and N.Z. cable and Reuter.
