TOKOMARU.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Airs J. Schwass intends spending the holidays at Paraparaumu, and will bo accompanied by her little daughter. Airs Hill, of Wellington, is the guest of All's J. Ella. Aiiss Moody lias returned homo from the South Island. Air Voss is spending a few days in Otaki. The Druids’ Christmas tree entertainment took place on Alondtiy evening and was well-attended by members and their families. Santa Claus arrived by motor at 8.30 and distributed gifts lavishly, much to the delight of the children. Various competitions were indulged in, those contributing to tho amusement of the children being potato races, skipping competitions, bun and banana eating competitions. A ladies’ nail driving competition was won by Airs J. Ella, Mr Stuart Parr winning the men’s nail-driving. _ Airs Ella also won the quoit-throwing, a fruit dish being the prize. Air Ella was the winner of the men’s quoitthrowing competition, thereby winning a tie and tie-press. The winner of the shooting competition, Mrs R. W. Guy, was presented with a honey jar and fruit dish. Alaster Jameson won the quoit-throwing competition. Supper was dispensed by tho men, this duty being attended to with commendable promptitude. The gathering dispersed shortly after midnight. Members of the congregation of St. Aidan’s have presented tho church with a pair of brass vases as a memorial to the late Airs Abbott. Inscribed thereon are the words: “To the glory of God, in loving memory of Alay Abbott, who died October 3, 1925.” The church will be decorated for the Christmas service on Thursday at 2.30 p.m. A service will be held on Christmas evening at seven o’clock.
