FRAUD DISCOVERED.

WORTHLESS DIPLooiAS ISSUED. AMERICAN DOCTOR SENTENCED. WASHINGTON, Dec. 21. Dr. Hclmuth Heller was found guilty of the use of the mails to dofraud in connection with his St. Louis medical diploma “mill,” the investigation into which was first begun two years ago. Heller was president of a mythical Oriental University and the self-styled Bishop of the Theoministic Church. He admitted the issuance of diplomas by mail, not only for medicine, surgery and dentistry, but for psychic healing and many other sciences. The students never attended classes and the professors signing the diplomas were accustomed to receive 25 cents a signature. Assistant District Attorneys Rover and McCall, in testifying, declared that the University was founded on lies, deceit and dishonesty and had flooded the United States and many other countries with worthless diplomas, leading to many fatalities among patients. Heller alleged that his enemies had arranged the prosecution. Doctor Adcox testified against Heller, who faces two years’ imprisonment and a 1000 dollars fine.—A. and N.Z. cable.
