IRON AND STEEL TRADE.
FOREIGN COMPETITION LONDON, Dec. 21. In the Houso of Commons, Mr Baldwin said that though there was evidence of serious foreign competition, tho Government was refusing tho iron and steel trade’s request for safeguarding because it would have widespread repercussion which might conflict with the Government’s tariff policy.—A. and N.Z. cable.
