HEAVY FIGHTING EXPECTED RIFLES LANDED AT CANTON. PEKIN, Dec. 21. Feng-yu-shiang is strongly reinforcing the Kuominchun army at Peitsang. It is reported that Chang-tsung-chang has sent a column to assist Li-chung-lin. Heavy lighting is expected shortly. The soldest weather is prevailing. Kuo-sung-ling is advancing and the Fengtienites are falling back. Tientsin is completely isolated, telegraphically. As the- result of a mass meeting in Hankow ; Chinese telegraphed \oshizawa, in Pekin, protesting against the despatch of Japanese troops to Manchuria, Chinese students in Japan likewise protested to tho Japanese Foreign Office. A Japanese report states that a Russian steamer landed 700 cases of rifles at Canton.—Reuter.
