SALVATION ARMY.
All throughout Sunday the city corps of the Salvation Army held their young people’s anniversary services. Lieut.-Colonel Hoare, of the children’s aid department, Wellington, conducted tho services, which, as usual, were of a bright and happy nature. During the morning, afternoon and evening services the children occupied the platform and rendered united songs and individual items. At the morning service Lieut.-Colonel Hoare delivered an address on “Christian Life and Service.” Tho interesting feature of the afternoon was the presentation by the colonel to tho primary department of the prizes for the previous year’s attendance. A nice crowd attended the night service, and the behaviour of the children was very good, especially in view of the fact that most of them had attended the three services. The colonel delivered an address on “Redeem the Time,” dealing with the different periods in life, from childhood to old age, illustrating them by means of a clock face drawn on a blackboard, and pointing the hands to different hours on the clock to represent the several ages in life. The audience appeared very appreciative, nnd after a short prayer meeting the sendee was brought to a close by the singing of the Doxology. The anniversary services will be continued tonight, "when a programme comprising quite a number of items will be rendered by the young people, to be followed on Thursday night by the prize-giving in connection with the intermediate section and Bible classes of the Young People’s Corps.
