CHILDREN’S HOMES.

ROTARY ENTERTAINS INMATES

The inmates of All Saints’ 'and Willard Homes were entertained on Saturday afternoon by members of the Palmerston North Rotary Club, the children being taken to Foxton, whero they spent a joyous afternoon in company with the little ones in residence at All Saints’ Home at tho beach.

In the early afternoon some 50 children from the two local homes were conveyed in motor cars from their respective institutions to Messrs Collinson and Cunninghame’s Christmas toy caves, whero each was presented with a toy, tho gift of the firm. Shortly afterwards the happy youngsters set out on tho drive to the seaside, where they were joined by another 20 children from All Saints’ Foxton Beach Home, the augmented party being conveyed to the sands at the Hoads, whero a sports meeting was held and prizes distributed to the winners. There w r as an 'abundance of sweets, fruit and cordials, and the little ones thoroughly enjoyed their outing. Those who loaned motor cars for the occasion wore Messrs F. Chin, A. S. Fairo, J. Grant, R. V. Hooper, J. Ireland, R. T. Jaggard, J. P. Stubbs, O. W. Williams, H. L. Young, Manners and W. E. Winks. Mesdames Chin, Winks, Jaggard, Grant and Stubbs lent valuable assistance in tho festivities at tho beach, while thanks are also due to Messrs Allsop and Callanan in that connection. Rotarian Jaggard was chairman of the transport committee and Rotarian Mackie chairman of the entertainment committee.
