STRUCK BY TRAIN
AT TAWA FLAT. BABY GIRL INJURED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 3. There was a railway accident at Tawa Flat this morning. Joan Phillips, aged 2 years and 4 months, strayed on to the railway line about 200 yards south of Tawa Flat station and was struck by tho engine of the train which was on its way from Palmerston North to Wellington. The child was immediately brought to Wellington and admitted to hospital. Tho authorities report that the injuries to her head and face are serious.
