DAMASCUS TROUBLE.
GUERILLA WARFARE PREVA- ' LENT. LONDON. Nov. 2. The National Political League has received a cablegram from Jerusalem stating that the Palestine Arabs struck work on the anniversary of tho Balfour declaration, as a protest against tho Damascus atrocities. Guerilla warfare in Syria, enveloping vast areas of country between Homs and Damascus, has shaken French control. The warring tribes dominate there. Another message says that eleven villages in the Damascus district joined the guerilla fighters, who are now liesieging four towns- —A. and N.Z. cable. TURKISH FORCES. ACTION EXPLAINED. LONDON, Nov. 2. British diplomatic circles, in commenting on the Daily Express's story of Turkish massing on tho Mesopotamia frontier, state that under the Franco-Turkish Treaty, Turks are allowed to transport troops for the Kurdish border by railway, crossing Syrian territory. France informs Britain of the details thereof. The number of Turkish troops in the Mosul area has never been increased. —A. and N.Z. cable.
