CADET AREA MEETING. Tho Hokowliitu riflo range was a sceno of activity on Saturday when tho opening day of tho defence area riflo meeting engaged tire attention of 165 senior cadets. Conditions were excellent, visibility being good, with an entire absence of wind, and as a direct result a high standard of shooting was recorded with tho uniform riflo .22, tho arm employed. Cadet M. T. Gabriel, of 16 Coy., was tho winner of the championship with an aggregate 'of 207 points, Cadet C. H. McLaren closely attending him with 204 points... His victory secured to tho champion tho Toxward Cup and gold medal, while tho runnerup was awarded a silver medal.
