DISASTROUS CYCLONE.
THOUSAND LIVES LOST. FORTY VESSELS SUNK. LONDON, Oct. 24. Advices received in Karachi from Bushire state that tho worst cyclonic storm in living memory in the Persian Gulf resulted in the loss of over 1000 lives and the sinking of 40 vessels. Bahrein was the most affected centre. —A. and N.Z. cable. BASRA, Oct. 24.
It is reported that 7000 were drowned when 240 pearling dhows were caught in a cyclone in the Persian Gulf.—A. and N.Z. cable.
