The Daily Express states: “It is understood that General Charteris’s statement about the German corpse factory will bo tho subject of an inquiry when ho returns.”—A. and N.Z. cable. BRITAIN TAKES MATTER SERIOUSLY. LONDON, Oct. 2G. The Observer states: “General Charteris’s speech is regarded seriously in Britain official circles. Several members of the House of Commons express their determination to raise the question in Parliament,” —A. and N.Z. cable. General Chartcris is reported to have said in America that tho war-time story about German corpses being rendered down for fat was circulated for propaganda purposes.
