FLOODS IN KOREA.
„ TOKIO, July 17. Press despatches from Korea carry news of a repetition of floods in the neighbourhood of Seoul, owing to three day’s rains, where railway traffic is suspended. Tho Seoul water supply is cut off and it is feared that tnere have been many casualties, while the damage to property is extensive. Confirmatory information is not yet available. ■*
A special message from Seoul sent by a circuitous .route, partially describes tho devastation of floods in tho Korean capital, which, it is stated, is completely isolated and without light. —A. and N.Z cable.
RIVER RISES THIRTY-SIX FEET. 1 Received Julv 20, 0.35 a.m. TOKIO, July 19.' Communications with Seoul are appaiently completely severed. It is impossible at present to ascertain tho flood damage there. Such reports as have como concur in stating that the floods are unprecedented, especially in Suburban llyuzan, where a riVer rose thirty-six feet, breaking an embankment. The place is without light, water and gas. Troops are assisting in rescue work, .which is rendered difficult owing to the terrific rush of water.—A, and N.Z. cable.
