FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

COURT MANAWATU, A.O.F

The fortnightly meeting of Court Manawatu, A.0.F., No 5655, was held in the Foresters’ Hall on Monday night. P.C.R. Bro. Levy presided over a large attendance of members, including a. number, of visiting brethren. One candidate was initiated into tho court and order, and one proposed for membership. Tho installation of officers took place, and P.C.R.’s Bros. Giles and Dryden were installing officers. At tho conclusion of the meeting the usual installation supper was held, the toast list being: ‘‘The King,” proposed by C.R. Bro. Rickards; “District Executive,” proposed by P.C.R. Bro. Dryden and responded to by P.C.R. Bro. J. Shiidt : “Court Hinemoa,” proposed by P.C.R. Bro. Levy and responded to by P.C.R. Bro. Holgerson; “Newly-elected Officers,” proposed by Bro. H. W. Bov is and responded to bv the newly elected officers; “Visiting Members,” proposed by C.R. Bro. Rickards and responded to by P.C.R. Bro. Giles (Woodville, P.C.R. Bro. Dryden (Wellington) and Bro." 11. W. Bovis (Wanganui): “Custodian,” proposed by P.C.R. Bro. Dryden and responded to by P.C.R. Bro. Paltridge; “The Press,” proposed by P.C.R. Bro. Sniidt and responded to by P.C.R. Bro. Levy on behalf of the press. Songs were rendered by Bros. Fabling, Giles and Drydon ; Humorous recitations by Bro. Bovis, and musical selections by Court Manawatu orchestra.
