HANDY ILLUSIONS.
SAILOR’S 1200 MILES FREE TRIP
“GUIDED BY VISIONS.”
SYDNEY, May 29
A sailor who was before the Goulburn Police Court related a strange story of a free railway journey from Rockhampton (Queensland) to Goulburn, roughly 1200 miles. His last ship landed Him in Queensland, and after being a few days in Rockhampton, lie told the magistrate, a vision appeared and told him to get into a railway carriage and go southward. He was informed that he would not need tickets or money, so ho obeyed.
Travelling in the most open manner, and without attempting to evade railway officials, he said, lie journeyed through Brisbane, Sydney, and the southern line stations to Goulburn, visions guarding him all the way. Medical examination showed that the man has the fixed illusion that his life is guided by dreams and visions. He has been admitted to the Kenmore Mental Hospital.
