PROPOSAL TO RAISE SPECIAL LOANS. > I HEREBY notify that in accordance with Section 10 of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913,” and “The Ifocal Elections and Polls Act, 1908,” separate polls will be taken on Friday, the 26th day of June, 1925, to decide whether the following' Special Loans shall be carried ; 1. A Loan of £33,500 for the following purposes: - r £23,500 of such Loan to be applied towards improving the Water '.Reticulation by laying a twentyone (21) inch diameter main from 'L.jntpn Road to the Square, and to provide pipes and materials in connection therewith. £IO,OOO to be applied towards the construction of a Concrete Weir at Tiritea, formation of. Road thereto, clearing bush, laying of a twenty-one (21) inch diameter pipe line connecting the new Weir with existing supply Main and the purchase of pipes and materials in con-

nection therewith. 2. A Loan of £17,000 for the purpose of enabling-the said Council to extend the Sewerage System where necessary, to purchase machinery, equipment and all other material required for the installation of # Pumping Plants and the pin'chaso of lands upon which to erect such plants should' same l>e deemed necessary. In the matter of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913,” “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” and all other Acts amending same. THE Palmerston North ' Borough . Council hereby gives notice that it proposes 'to raise a Special Loan of seventeen thousand pounds (£17,000) at a rate of interest not exceeding six per centum* per annum and a Sinking Fund of one per centum per annum, for the purpose of enabling the said Council - to extend the Sewerage System where necessary, to purchase machinery, equipment and all other material required . tor the installation of Pumping Plants and the purchase oi lands upon which to erect such plants should 'same be deemed necessary. And for the purpose of providing for the- repayment of the said loan and for the payment of interest and other charges on or in connection with the Special Loan and a Sinking Fund of one per centum per annum, to appropriate and pledge as security a special rate of one-seventh (l-7th) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the said Borough, on the basis of the unimproved value; such rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be made and levied by resolution of the said Council, to be passed after the said Special Loan has been agreed to by the' ratepayers. The whole of the loan to be repaid at the expiration of either 10 or 20 years from the date of raising same. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan and the interest and sinking fund for the first year. Dated at Palmerston North this 20th day of May, 1925. J. R.
