SITUATION IN MOROCCO.

BECOMES MORE GRAVE.

LONDON, June 10. The Times’s Paris correspondent states that the German Embassy does not deny reports from Morocco that large numbers of German reserve officers have joined Abdel Krim’s forces, but states that this is against the wishes of the German Government, which lias advised German subjects not to help Krini, directly or indirectly, or to serve as military instructors. A Franco-Spanish conference oh Moroccan affairs is being held at Madrid on June 15.

The Daily Mail’s Paris correspondent states that the gravity of the Moroccan situation is increasingly apparent. Tlie French have evacuated Taounat, destroying quantities of war material. They have also withdrawn from many posts further eastward owing to unremitting Riff sniping. General Lyautcy has urgently requested further reinforcements for artillery and aeroplanes with a view to clearing the right bank of the Onergha, as otherwise these minor successes are calculated to increase Abdel Krim’s prestige.—A. and N.Z. cable. PRESSURE ON FRENCH LINES. PARIS, June 10. Owing to enemy pressure, which resulted in many penetrations of the French lines, along Waidizess, the French command decided, as a precautionary measure, to remove the civilian population of Wezzan southward. The evacuations were carried out calmly.—A. and N.Z. cable.
