FttTGBY AT MIRANUI. KEE 'I INTEREST DISPLAYED. At the invitation of the Miranui Football Clu i, Messrs A. Hannay (president of the I lanawatu Rugby Union), A. W. Thompso 1 and J. B. Proud journeyed to Aliranui ast evening, when a gathering of

some 80 Rugby enthusiasts was in attendance, Mr H. A. Seifert presiding. A comprehensive address on the rules of the game was given by Mr Thompson, who in the courso of his remarks congratulated the club on the enthusiasm displayed—a condition worthy of emulation by other clubs in tho district. Messrs Hannay and Proud supplemented the previous speakers’ remarks, the former official expressing the hope that, on their next visit, the amalgamation lof the Horowhonua and Manawatu Unions would bo an accomplished fact, which would result in them belonging to one big union. At the conclusion of the meeting, tho visitors were entertained at supper and conducted over the mills by Mr Seifert.
