LIVER FOR LIFE.

CURE FOR BLOOD PRESSURE,

TORONTO, May 7.

Dr. IV. J. MacDonald told the Ontario Medical Association to-day of a new treatment for high blood pressure that had been .highly successful in 32 out of 33 cases.

The latients undergoing the test were known to have had high pressure for six years. The treatment consists of hypodermic injections of extract of liver. When the treatment was ceased tho pressures slowly returned to high marks, but were reduced again quickly under renewed treatment. Patients running over 200 for years now maintained 150 on one dose a week. The patients were of an average age of 01 years. Dr j\l icDouald said that he and his associates had succeeded in separating the active agent responsible for the reduction of blood pressure from the extract itself.
