TERRIBLE TOLL OF MURDER.
NEW YORK, May 21. America’s annual toll of murder now exceeds 11,OCX) and the homicide rate for 1924 is more than double that of If 00, according to tho statistics of a large insurance company. “Recent murder trials,” it is stated, “leu"e no room to doubt tliaa our judicial administration in capita., cases is not what it should be.” It is asiserted that pistols and poisons are far too easily obtained by the public.—A and N.Z. cable.
