WRONGLY INTERNED.

WIDOW LOSES LOVER. UNUSUAL APPEAL CASE. LONDON, May 14. An unusual case is now before the Privy Council, Mrs Jacob has. appealed against the Indian High Court’s reversal of a breach of promise award of 35,000 rupees, which she secured against David Wills, a wealthy Calcutta merchant. Mrs Jacdh, whose parents were German, was wrongly interned in India during war time as a suspected spy, hut the Government later paid her 20,000 rupees as compensation. She complained that this internment caused the separation of a lonely widow and her rich lover, who married another woman in 1920. The hearing was adjourned.
