FIRST BEAUTIFICATION.

HOLY YEAR AT ROME. LONDON, April 19. The first beatification during Holy Year at Rome was that of Antonio Maria Gianelli, Bishop of Bobbio. The ceremony was impressively carried out at St. Peter’s, the windows of which were darkened, while 10,000 lights illuminated the cathedral.
