OVERSEAS SETTLEMENT.
ASSISTANCE OF THE CHURCH. LONDON, May 1. With the Church Assembly’s approval, an Overseas Settlement council has been formed in order that the moral and material forces of the Church of England at Home and abroad may be placed at the disposal of official and other organisations engaged in migration. Tho council will, if needed, help migrants financially, provide fpr their reception and aftercare and supply letters of introduction. The Bishops of London and Salisbury and fifteen leading churchmen will be the first governing board. The churches of the Dominions will be asked to co-operate.—-A. and N.Z. ■ejquo
