CAGE FALLS THOUSAND FEET.

PARIS, March 2G

Eighty miners were coming up in a cage from the Werlenbach mine in the Moselle region, when the cage crashed down a thosuand feet. Thirty have been raised from the pile of mangled bodies; four liave since died and tho rest have been so shockingly injured that there is little hope for the remainder. The accident was due to the breaking of the cage chain. — A. and N.Z. cable.

FIFTY-ONE DEATHS

Received March 28. 11.15 a.m. PARIS, March 27. It has now been ascertained that 51 were killed and 28 injured in the cage disaster at the Reumaux pit.—Reuter.
