“HOUNDED TO DEATH.”

IN MONEYLENDERS CLUTCHES. LONDON, Feb. 23. “I was hounded to death by Jew lawyers and moneylenders,” Colonel Byrne, of the Royal Artillery, wrote in a letter produced at the inquest into his death. Colonel Byrne, who had a distinguished war record, was found shot at a West End club. The coroner said that Byrne's breakfast table, like most men's, was littered with touting letters from moneylenders. In his opinion, lying circulars broadcasted by .professional bloodsuckers should be made illegal. Experienced people knew it was the height of folly to enter the clutches of moneylenders.
