WIRELESS VOGUE
POSSIBILITIES IN TRADE, SOME NOVEL IDEAS. [By Electric Telegraph .—Copyright.] Received February 11, 8.55 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 10. Apart from the Post Office figures showing that 'wireless licenses in the. last year yielded a revenue of £250,055, of which £189,188 went to the British Broadcasting Coy., there are other proofs of the wide vogue of wireless licensing. A court witness to-day declared that workers now preferred wireless to whisky, but the most amusing development is the outburst of trade rivalry, which originated through fruit salesmen broadcasting a ditty urging people to "Eat more fruit, which is less injurious than meat." Thereupon the aggrieved butchers broadcasted: "Sons, eat more meat." Now the fishmongers have taken up the challenge, and to-morrow morning at nine o'clock all Billingsgate salesmen will assemble to devote a half hour to rehearsing the wireless chorus: "Eat more fish." —A. and N.Z. cable.
