TAXI-DRIVER'S CLAIM.

DECEASED PERSON INVOLVED. PLAINTIFF NON-SUITED. At the Magistrate's Court this morning, Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., gave reserved judgment in a case in which W. Archibald, taxi proprietor, of Paimerston North, proceeded against Joe Mammam, of Bulls, claiming half of his usCOUnt against the late Mrs Sutherland, such being for taxi hire aud money lent, aggregiiting £BS 5s 6d. At the hearing Mr Cooper appeared for plaintiff and Mr Mackie tor defendant. Counsel for defence had disputed personal liability, the debts having been incurred by tho late Mrs Sutherland, defendant's mother. The .Magistrate held that there was a technical point concerned and that a fresh action would have to be taken against the estate of deceased. Plaintiff would be non-suited.
