IMMENSE WAVE.

STRIKES THE AORANGI. PROMENADE DECK SMASHED. Received February 9, 10.50 a.m. NEW YORK, Feb. 8. A wireless message that has been received from San Francisco states that the motor-ship Aorangi, which is on her first trip from Vancouver on the Australian run, was struck by an abnormally large wave yesterday afternoon, about 400 miles off the Northern California coast, smashing the bridge and promenade deck. A man's leg was broken and a boy cut by the broken glass.—A. and N.Z. cable.
