POWER BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the ManawatuOroua Power Board was held to-day when there were present: Mr J. A. Nash, M.P. (in the chair), Sir James Wilson, J. Linklaio, M.P., P. J. Small, M. A. Eliott, 11. H. Hunt, J. 11. Vincent, F. W. Arbon, J Morrison, J. S Tingey, and L. T. MceLaji. CORRESPONDENCE From tho Hutt Valley Electric Power Board, asking for the boards' assistance in having regulation 52 amended, in reference to tho height of low tension service lines on consumers' premises. Tho present regulation was 14ft from ground level and with the present style of house being erected, it was considered 12ft would provide ample margin of safety.—Mr Waters (chief engineer) reported that the matter was being considered by tho conference of ongineers. The department was, howover, waiving the restriction. From tlio board's solicitor, forwarding legal opinion, stating that ho did not consider that the board was entitled to pay the £lO5 deducted by tho Feilding Borough Council for engineer's fees. —Held over pending the auditing of tho books. ' From the To Arakura School Committee requesting the board to charge a flat rate over the whole year on the current supplied to the school.—lt was decided to reply advising that the board could not reduce tho minimum charge meantime, but would consider the matter noxt financial year. STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS. The treasurer reported that of tho £400,000 loan, £260,000 had been received. Tho balance to tho loan account was £2843 6s; power fund, £6llß Is 4d and Public Trustee, £31,846 lis 7d. Tho collections made during tho past month had been current account, £1225 13s sd; installations, £lll4 Is 3d; sundries, £270 14s 6d. Advances to date amounted to £20,366 17s lid; amount refunded to date, £14,656 Is 3d, leaving a balance of £5710 16s 8d owing. Accounts amounting to £9784 14s 3d were passed for payment.
