"Mr A. J. Sh&iler has received from Orleans, Franco, a large consignment of over 7000 trees and shrubs. This is the largest number shipped in one consignment to New Zealand from France since the war. They were packed on November 22nd, unci, although over ten weeks on the voyage, arrived in splendid condition. The consignment consists of maples, beech, copper beech, indigo trees, silver birch ash, viburnum, fringe flower, clematis, etc. The trees and shrubs have just arrived and have been planted. They should bo well acclimatised by the winter.
