Hurried negotiations are proceeding in Germany with the various Powers regarding the customs arrangements from January 10, on which date Germany's obligation to give the Allies the most favoured nation treatment expires. No agreement has yet been reached with France, Italy or Belgium, but Britain's position is secured by the recent commercial treaty. Reit" ter's Agency learns in this connection, however, that Germany does not intend to extend the moßt favoured nation treatment to the Dominions, unless the latter respond similarly.
