WANGANUI TOURNAMENT. Par Press Association. WANGANUI, Jan. 5. At the Wanganui tennis tourney, in the final of the ladies' singles. Miss Ramsay (Auckland) beat Miss Cox (Wanganui), 6 —2, 6 —l. In the final of the ladies' doubles, Mrs Melody (Auckland) and Miss Newcombo (Wanganui) beat Mrs Dr. Atinore and Miss O'Rourke (Otaki), 6 —3. The mixed doubles was won by Mrs Melody and W. Pearce, who beat A. Wheeler and Mis 3 Wilson, 6—4, 6 —o. SOUTH CANTERBURY WINNERS. TIMARU, Jan. 5. The South Canterbury Lawr. Tencis Association's championship New Year tournament, which commenced on January Ist, concluded to-day, the final results being as follow: —Men's singles: Walker beat Johnston, 6—B, 2 —6, 6—l, 6—3, 6—4. Men's doubles: Guy and Fulton beat Dennehey and Oxford, 6—3, 6—2, 6—o. Ladies' singles: Miss Buchanan beat Mrs Voss, 6—5, 6—l. Ladies' doubles: Mrs Bannerman and Miss Green beat Misses King and Thwaites 3—6, 6—2, 6—2. Mixed doubles: Walker and Miss Quill beat O'Connell and Miss. Green, 6—l, 4—6, 6—4. I MDDLE. LENGLEN RECOVERS. ~ PARIS, Jan. 4. Mddlo. Lenglen has recovered, and playing with Miss Ryan won three ■rounds in the ladies' doubles at the Beausite (Cannes) tournament.—-A. and N.Z. cable.
