GIANT BUILDING
EIGHTY-EIGHT STOREYS HIGH. PROJECT IN NEW YORK. [By Electric Telegraph.-—Copyright.] Received December 11, 8.5 a.m. NEW YORK, Dee. 10. Now York’s right to the title of “The City of Skyscrapers” will bo undisputed for some time to come if an eighty-eight storey office building to 4>e erected in Lower Broadway is a fact. That such a building is contemplated is vouched for by the architect who designed the fifty-one storey Woolworth building, at present rated as the tallost office structure in the world. He states that tests will he made shortly to determine the extent that the Woolworth building sways in heavy gales, and the purpose of these tests is to ascertain the practicability of an eighty-eight storey building. If practicable it will he built. The exact location has not yet been,fixed, but, presumably, from the general location indicated, it will he near enough to overshadow the Woolworth building.—Reuter,
