BUTTER PRODUCTION.

INCREASE IN AUSTRALIA. Received December 11, 10.15 a.in. MELBOURNE, Dec. 11. Granted a continuance of tlie present favourable weather, this season will witness mi eclipse of all previous records in regard to butter production, -The exportfigures made available by Mr Pratlen show that from 30lh June to 15th November 654,638 boxes of butter were examined by the grading officials compared with 252,513 during (lie corresponding period of 1 lie previous year. During ihe period this year 524.036 boxes have been sent overseas as against 349.467 in 1923. The quality has also shown u general improvement, the increased percentage of highest grade being from two to 23 per _ cent, above that of last year from the principal producing- states.—Press Association.
