Signor Dal bo lias resigned the command of the Fuscist militia following the disclosure in the course of his libel action against the newspaper Voce Republican of a letter written by him on August 31, 1923, instructing tho prefects to suppress rigorously any attempts at disorder by the anti-Fasbist elements and not to interfere with the police if the latter used batons freely against the enemies of Fascism. The Opposition papers made such an outcry on the subject of the letter that "Signor Balbo tendered his resignation to Signor Mussolini, whom he informed that the letter was sent as a result of the murder of four Fascists. Signor Mussolini, in accepting the resignation, thanked Signor Balbo for bis devoted services to Fascism.— Reuter.
