Tiie aim of those controlling _ Paddy’s Market at the Empire Hall on Wednesday and Thursday next is to see that every visitor lias an enjoyable, jolly time with something to do and see. broin the children's point of view, the most important event is '.he coining of Father Christinas with a Christmas tree laden with toys. An expert Punch and Judy man has been specially engaged front W ellington to run this ever-populur side-show, which is always fascinating to children and grown-ups alike. Then there is the mysterious fish pond, from which the most wonderful fish may be landed. An exciting side-show new to Palmerston is “Bunny Pulls the Strings, which has been imported from Wellington for tho occasion. A shooting gallery, novelty golf driving competition, and an art gallery - arc among other attractions too numerous to mention- individually. Two groups of children—one from Longburn, under Miss ParkesJ tho other under Miss Jean Thompson—will give short exhibitions of fancy dancing, while a large dancing floor has been reserved for those who care to dance to the music of Mrs Carter s orchestra; which, in addition to playing for the dances will also give selections during the afternoon and' evening. Mrs Ilnggitt is in charge of tiie afternoon tea and supper department, while there will also be soft drinks, ices, and strawberries and cream stalls.
