ST. PAUL’S METHODIST CHURCH.
SOCIAL GATHERING
St. Paul’s schoolroom was filled 1 ° capacity last night for a_ social gathering of the congregation. The Hev. M. A. Rugby Pratt presided and Mr HPacey delivered an address in the coti r-e of which he extended a welcome to the numerous newcomers to the church and stressed the value of church trllowslnp. Bongs were contributed by Mis* Pacey, .Miss Bennett and .Mr MeLoavey. Mis* Teale contributed elocutionary items. During the evening the election of officers took place. The following were appointed society stewards: .Messrs f. Cordon, ( . J. Hast, J. Walker, W. Cameron, K. G. Bennett, VV. Harrington, U. George, anti \V. 8 McCulloch, together with the fol lowing as associate stewards: .Messrs H. J Burd, E. Lock, T. Pacey, L. Staples and \V. J. Reynolds. The following were appointed to represent the congregation on the quarterly meeting: Me.sdames Pacey, tl. H. Bycroft and Burd, -Miss Levy and .Messrs Oxley and Whitehead. As stewards of the benevolent fund Mrs J. Cimninghaine and Air A. -I. MeLeavpy were appointed. Air Allan AicLcavey was appointed Minister’s steward and intimation was made that, Air Eric. Stiles was to be nominated as envelope steward. Refreshments were dispensed by the Ladies’ Guild and there were two intervals for social intercourse during which many recent arrivals had opportunity for meeting with the church members. The gathering concluded at 10 p.in. by the singing of the Doxology and the ptonouncing of tile Benediction.
