BRAVERY OF A WOMAN. Por Press Association. WHAKATANE, July 24. A gallant rescue from drowning was effected by Mrs Soutcr at Taneatua yesterday. While crossing the Whakatane river u gig, driven by Mr Gooch, capsized and the occupant was pinned down under the water. Mrs Soutcr, who was nearby, rushed to the rescue and held Mr Gooch’s head up till others arrived and extricated the man, who was in an exhausted condition# The horse was drowned.
