PUNISHMENT FOR CRIME.
SENTENCES AT WELLINGTON

WELLINGTON, _ July 19.
The following prisoners were sentenced at the Supreme Court to-day: William Alfred Twist and Imuicis Jtverard Higgle, for breaking, entering and theft at Woodville and ]<eildin o , the former received twelve months and Diggle six months. Victor Charles Hugo Greaves for breaking, entering an d theft at Blenheim, and who was described as a bad type of criminal was sentenced to two years’ hard labour. Finest Edward McFadgean on ten charges of theft at Carterton was given two years’ probation.
