PITIFUL STORY.
GIRL'S UNBALANCED MIND. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 19. A pitiful story of a girl’s unbalanced mind was told at the inquest held today on the body of Grace Eileen Scholefield, aged 16 years, who had lived ■ with her mother in Oxford Terrace, On February 20th the girl W£ }s collllr dtted to the Sunnyside mental hospital, but on April 16th she was allowed to return to her home. The T ot u r ’ rs Scholefield, said her daughter was erratic. Yesterday she sereumed violently and would not let anyone touch her. A doctor visited fier once a week but he did not think she was bad enough to be re-commit-ted to a mental hospital. She was very bad last evening. She became violent, but went into town, returning later m the evening, going into her bedroom. Mrs Scholefield went into the room at about 10 p.m. She sat on the . , "fitting for a while and noticing that the girl s head was not resting on Hie pillow, she told her to move up ihe girl, as was her habit, had her mTf re f' “She did not answer, so 1 fitted back the clothes and she had a blue rag round her neck,” said Mrs l C on°. lefi 1 eld ' „ j‘ She did move or speak, 1 called out, but she would not answer.
