WORLD FLIGHT.
MACLAREN GIVES IDS MOTTO.
“GET THERE.”
TOKIO, July 7
“Safety first, and get there is my motto,” said Squadron-Leader MacLaren, the British aviator, after landing at Kasumigaura, to-day, from Kusliimoto. He was explaining the delay in his arrival.- Ho battled with head winds all the way from the southern coast, funding it difficult to follow' his course through tho intense blue haze. The airmen had a rousing reception at Kasumigaura from school-children waving union Jacks, and cheering bluejackets. _ „ Squadron-Leader MaoLaren is net anxious to make fast time at the expense of safety, although he hopes to win first-round-the-workl-honours. He disclaims, however, the idea of racing the Americans. Most of those who were waiting were surprised to see him land on tlie ground, instead of on the water. The machine permits of both methods. The aviators are in fine fettle. Japanese aviation officers entertained them to-niglit enthusiastically.
