"]V[OTICE is hereby given that the Xl Palmerston North, Borough Couiiciil will at an Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held at tho Borough Council Offices, situate in the Square, ■ Paliuerston North, at 7.30 p.m. on the 16th day of June, 1924, make and levy •. the following rates for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 11)24, end ending on the 31st day of March, 1025, namely:— A GENERAL RATE under Section 77 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920," and Section 44 and also Section 48 of "The Rating Act, l ( J0e, ' of one and one-half penny.in the pound on all rateable value on tho Valuation Roll of ali rateable property within the Borough of Palmerston North, on the basis of the unimproved value. WATER RATES (ordinary supply) under Section 82 of "Hie Municipal Corporations Act, 1020," and Section 48 of 'The Rating Act, 1906," as follows:—On all lands and buildings in the Borough of Palmerston Nortn to which water is supplied:— (a) Where the annual rateable value on tho Valuation Koll does not exceed twelve pounds ten shillings (£'l2/10/-), a rate or seven shillings and sixpence. (b) Where sucn rateable value exceeds twelve pounds ten shillings, a rate of three per centum on sueh value. One-half of die respective water rates mentioned above on all lands and buildings to which water can be, but is not, supplied, situate within one hundred yams of any part of the waterworks, and on all buildings used as stores or warehouses, or lor any purpose other than dwelling houses. A LIBRARY KATE under Section 91 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920," and Section 46 of "the bating Act, 1905," of one-ninth (l-'Jth) ot a penny in the pound on the rateable value on the Valuation Roll of all rate able property within the Borough a Palmerston North. A HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD KATE under Section 4J of "Ine Hospital and Charitable Aid institutions Act, 1009," of one-third (,1-31-dJ oi a penny in tne pounci on tno rateable value on tho Valuation Roil of all rateable property within the Borough of Palmerston Nortn. That notice be also given under Section 04 of "ilie Municipal Corporations Act, 1920," and Section 48 of "The Bating Act, 1008," that the proportion or tne annually recurring special Kates made tor providing tne interest and sinking funds ot tne authorised loans will oe threepence and oneeighth of a penny (34aJ in the pound on the basis of the unimproved value for the above-mentioned period. SANITATION FEE. That notice be also given that the unnorm iee or Inrteeti Shillings for the above-mentioned period tor sanitation purposes will under Section b 9 of 'The xuumeipai Corporations Act, 1020," and Section 48 of "ihe bating Act, J. 908," be made and cuarged in the said .borough.
